Tipsies · Hanover, Pennsylvania

“So, what is Tipsies?”

A wine bar on Broadway

Tipsies is a wine bar in downtown Hanover. Styled as a tasting room for Pennsylvania pours, cut-to-order boards, and staying longer than you meant to.

The kitchen keeps one rule: local produce, global cheeses. The fruit and vegetables come from close by; the cheese case wanders a lot farther.

“Who opened Tipsies?”

Meet Alyssa May

Alyssa May, creator, owner, and operator of Tipsies, grew up in Hanover before earning her degree at The Culinary Institute of America. She then traveled the country honing her craft at a variety of hotels and restaurants, but she never forgot the incredible agricultural roots of her hometown.

“I have so many great memories of gathering fresh produce after the local harvest, stopping by neighborhood farm stands, and tasting sweet corn picked that very morning”

Now, she is thrilled to bring her culinary background back home. Combining her CIA training with her Level 1 Sommelier certification, Alyssa is passionate about pairing local Pennsylvania wines with regional farm produce and an exceptional global selection of cheeses.
